There's always a chance for a laugh in our house.

Melanie over at You Are My Fave asked what our Summer goals are. I love me some goal setting and summer goals are all about fun, so here we go...
  • Summer Concerts!
  • Go to the beach
  • Drink through my wine collection to make room for Fall Wine Festival buys
  • Stash down!
  • Eat fresh, healthful foods
  • Cheap LA fun
I always say I love living in Southern California because I'm an hour's drive from the mountains or the beach and that there's always something to do. Truth be told, I go to the beach maybe once or twice a year and I honestly can't remember the last time I was up in the mountains. I rarely do the fun LA things unless someone's visiting from out of town and although I've wanted to go to one of the many concerts series around town, I never have.

This year I'm changing that. My BFF & I bought season tickets to the LA Philharmonic's summer series at the Arboretum. We'll spend 5 evenings this summer sitting outside, drinking wine & munching on picnic food while listening to some great music. I'm SO excited. I'll also be seeing Adele in a couple weeks and my friend AJ Rafael is releasing his album next week, so I imagine I'll be seeing at least one of his concerts.

The soldier will be back this summer, too, and we have a long list of touristy things we want to do together. We'll have to see how that goes. He only has 4 weeks of leave and both of us are super busy during that time. I hoping for one long epic tourist day. :)

What are you doing this Summer?

BUSY BUSY BUSY

That's what I've been- busy busy.

My Crochet 101 class went well- except that they stuck us in the back of the school and the classroom door was locked well past the start time. Once we got going it was great though. Such neat ladies. I hope to see them this summer in my fun new classes.

I have be knitting up a storm for my bestie's baby to be. Although I also have another friend and two cousins who are pregnant, Baby J is already my favorite. That's horrible, isn't it? But what can I say? Mommy & I have been super-close friends for more than 10 years. This baby is close to my heart.

I should show you all those baby projects, but next up is going to be a crochet project I promised to review. I'm excited to get going on it. Can't wait to let you in! I just need to finish up that damn second sock (I swear ALL socks will be done 2 at a time from now on!) and the most adorable little sweater you'll ever see.... assuming I can learn colorwork all by myself!

What are you working on?

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. I know it's super late but better late than never, right? :)

As a daughter of a teacher (and goddaughter and niece and cousin.... yeah, we have a lot of teachers in my family) I can tell you that while candy is easy & apple themed gifts are cute... teachers get TONS of those things! Here are some of my favorite teacher presents...

Purse organizer & essentials from All Things Thrifty. (Bonus: great Mother's Day gift!)

Cold drink cup & drink mix from Lisa Storms. (I just saw these cups at Joann's for $2 I think)

Office Essentials from Eighteen25.

To all you teachers out thee... thank you for all you do!
